Taney County Ambulance is a proud partner of the County's E-911 system. Our PSAP (Public Service Answering Point) allows us to provide Emergency Medical Dispatching to all of our 911 callers. Using the Medical Priority System, allows us to assist the patient with early care from the caller. We can prompt each caller with basic instructions that will help sustain life or even help bring a new life into the world. Taney County Ambulance District also stays ahead with the training of our TDDY system that is built into our 911 system, helping the deaf or hearing impaired public.

The public can also reach our Communications Center with two other listed seven digit phone numbers: 417-334-1441 or 417-546-4001 and our non-emergency dispatch line of 417-335-5312. All three of these numbers are monitored twenty-four hours a day. Priority is given to 911 and the first two numbers.

In the case of excessive calls to the Emergency Room at the Hospital we are able to access the ER with our ring down phone system. This phone is a stand-alone phone that rings to another stand-alone phone in the ER. Through a learning exercise with the hospital we found the need for this type of communication.

Our five-channel console contains our primary frequency that we use for paging out our units and all call information. Our secondary frequency is used for business conversations and day-to-day operations. This secondary frequency is our backup radio system in the event that we may have a primary radio failure. All of our radios and pagers have this frequency capabilities. The third frequency has the hospital HEAR frequency to allow recording of medical control directives. It is also used to monitor fire departments that assist us with their first responders. The fourth frequency is state fire mutual aid designated for all fire department in the state. This frequency is used by Branson Fire Department to inform us of patient condition or any other information that may be useful. The final frequency in our console is law enforcement mutual aid. This allows us to communicate with law enforcement dispatch, and law officers in the field.

We are able to monitor all fire and law agencies in our county with a dual band transceiver. It scans law enforcement, fire and coast guard distress and has amateur radio capabilities.

All of the management team and most crew members are staffed with alphanumeric pagers. In the communications center we have a paging keyboard that can page any or all employees at once. This was designed for mass casualty situations, and we can contact all personnel out of one page.

All full-time operators are EMD certified through Medical Priority within the first ninety days of their employment. If they are unable to gain their certification within that time period, they must at least be registered for a class. Certification is a requirement for this position. If the employee fails the first testing a second class or testing should be done at the employee expense.
