Taney County Ambulance is a proud partner of Taney County's E-911 system. Our PSAP (Public Service Answering Point) allows us to provide Emergency Medical Dispatching to all of our emergency callers. By using the Medical Priority Dispatch System, we assist the patient with early care through the caller. We can prompt each caller with basic instructions that can help sustain life or even help bring a new life into the world. Taney County Ambulance District strives to stay on the cutting edge of technology. We are one of the most technologically advanced EMS services in Missouri. Our multifaceted computer aided dispatch system, mobile data terminals, automatic vehicle location, Toughbook laptops, and state of the art system status management software has helped us to achieve this goal. These advances allow us to provide quick response times, accurate emergency locations, and the best possible patient care.

The public can reach our Communications Center by dialing 911 as well as two other listed seven digit emergency phone numbers: 417-334-1441 or 417-546-4001 and our non-emergency dispatch line of 417-335-5312. All three of these numbers are monitored twenty-four hours a day. Priority is given to 911 and the first two numbers.

In the case of excessive calls to the Emergency Room at the Hospital we are able to access the ER with our direct phone line. This phone line allows direct communication between us and the ER. Through a learning exercise with the hospital we found the need for this type of communication.

Our five-channel console consists of our primary frequency that we use for sending out our units to emergency calls. Our secondary frequency is used for day-to-day operations. This secondary frequency is also our backup radio system in the event that we may have a primary radio failure. The third frequency has the hospital HEAR frequency to allow recording of medical control directives. It is also used to monitor fire departments that assist us with first responders. The fourth frequency is state fire mutual aid designated for all fire departments in the state. The final frequency in our console is law enforcement mutual aid. This allows us to communicate with law enforcement dispatch, and law officers in the field.

We are also able to monitor all other public safetly agencies in our county with a dual band transceiver. It scans Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire, Coast Guard distress, and has amateur radio capabilities.

Our Communications Team consists of 10 full time and 4 PRN Team Members. All of our team members are EMD certified through the National Academy of Emergency Medical Dispatch within the first ninety days of their employment. If they are unable to gain their certification within that time period, they must at least be registered for a class. Certification is a requirement for this position.
