Taney County Ambulance District Honors Retiring Paramedics

Taney County Ambulance District

Employees, family members, and board members of the Taney County Ambulance District held their annual banquet to honor retiring paramedics Danny Ingenthron and Terry Cobb, and to recognize several outstanding TCAD employees.

Danny Ingenthron was hired as an EMT in 1985, and was licensed as a paramedic the following year.  He is retiring after 23 years of service to Taney County.

“I want to thank everyone for all the good times we’ve had.” said Ingenthron.  “This is the best EMS service in the country. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, and everyone I’ve worked with.”

Terry Cobb became an EMT in 1972, and in 1974 he was the first paramedic to be licensed in Missouri.  His father, Walter S. Cobb, founded TCAD in 1976 and Terry has been an employee since day one.  His retirement marks the end of 34 years at TCAD, and the first time since 1952 that a Cobb will not be working on an ambulance in Taney County.

“It’s kind of ironic...right across the street is the old ambulance barn where it all started. The first banquet was held in that garage, on the tables covered with cot sheets.” said Cobb. “You all know how I fell about you. I want you to keep this going, and make this the best service around.”

In addition to recognizing the retirees, several other employees were commended. Awards were presented to Kim Beard (Administrative Assistant of the Year), Mandy Wilson (Dispatcher of the Year), Shannon Aumiller (EMT of the Year), Matt Greenwalt (Paramedic of the Year), and Paul Kirk (Supervisor of the Year). A special award was also presented to mechanic Shawn Simmons in recognition of his hard work year round keeping the ambulances and other vehicles running.
