TCAD is an aggressive EMS service, serving all of Taney County. We provide mutual aid assistance to surrounding counties in Missouri & Arkansas. TCAD is one of the fastest growing Districts in the state covering approximately 620 square miles of various terrain and waterways in the Ozark Mountains of Southwest Missouri. Taney County has over 42,000 residents and experiences over 7 million visitors each year. TCAD has completed 33 years of service as of January 15, 2009.

The ambulance district started in 1976 with 6 employees and two stations.  Each station had an on-call crew consisting of an EMT and Paramedic. Crews answered the ambulance phone at home, drove their private vehicle to assigned stations, picked up the ambulance and responded to emergencies. Over the years TCAD was financially able to begin housing EMS crews and invested in a plan to provide the best care available for our residents and visitors of Taney County.  In 2009, TCAD employed more than 80 personnel who include; Paramedics, EMT’s, Dispatchers, Call Takers, Educators, Office and Maintenance Staff. We provide our community with 24-hour 911 call center dispatching and advanced life support EMS response. TCAD employs some of the highest skilled EMS providers and support staff in Missouri and our supervisors are always available and willing to assist the community and district staff as needed.

TCAD was voted Service of the Year for 1996 and 2003 by the Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association and we are proud of our accomplishments along the way. While managing a drastically increased number of requests for service each year, we provide safety and prevention training to the public, developed the Heart-Safe Community and Public Access Defibrillation program with more than 80 automated external defibrillators (AED’s) distributed throughout the County. Instituted the Walter S. Cobb EMS Education Center; specializing in emergency medical training for residents, responders, and EMS providers in and around the Taney County area, provide EMS service for large scale events in the area; such as the 2009 Branson Air Show at the new Branson Regional Airport and we are the official EMS service for the men's NAIA Division II College Basketball Tournament. TCAD houses and maintains state resources such as a Mobile Medical Unit capable of establishing an onsite 50 bed hospital and a Rapid Response Unit for quick deployment of a forward medical team.  TCAD is a member of the U.S. Homeland Security Taney County/Branson Regional Response Team, providing medical care specializing in weapons of mass destruction and hazardous materials response.
